September 18, 2025, Tokyo, Japan – At the 12th International Energy Storage Exhibition (ESS Tokyo 2025), GT PowerSafe launched the “HyperCharge-X” graphene-based ultra-fast charge solution. Achieved the industry milestone of 15 minutes to 80% charge (4C ratio), energy density of 320Wh/kg, cycle life exceeded 3000 times (capacity retention rate >90%). The technology has been awarded a $1.5 billion joint development order by Porsche and Ningde Times, and the first products will be equipped with 2026 Taycan supercharge and 500MWh energy storage FM power stations in the Yangtze River Delta.

Technology disruption: 3D graphene-reconstructed electrode dynamics
Based on the exclusively developed “3D porous graphene nanocages” technology, HyperCharge-X breaks through four major bottlenecks:

Ion highway:

The graphene layer was vertically arranged to construct the 0.5nm ion channel, and the lithium ion migration speed was increased to 7.2 times that of conventional materials.

With high voltage flame retardant electrolyte (working voltage 4.5V), 450kW overcharge power is achieved, 1.8 times faster than Tesla V4 overcharge pile.

Self-healing negative electrode:

The silicon carbon anode is embedded into the shape memory polymer, and the volume expansion rate of charge and discharge is compressed from 320% to 8%.

The first coulomb efficiency reached 94.5%, comparable to pure graphite anode.

Zero-out lithium protection:

The AI temperature control system manages the cell temperature with a precision of 0.1℃, and combines the pulse fast charging algorithm to completely eliminate the lithium dendrite risk caused by fast charging.

Through UL 2580 rigorous 2000 fast charge cycle test, the capacity decay rate is only 0.002%/ time.

Business landing: Defining the new supercharged economic model
Car end revolution:
The Porsche 2026 Taycan Hyper is equipped with a 120kWh battery pack, which increases the battery life by 520 km (WLTP standard) in 15 minutes, three times higher than the current model;
At the same time, Ningde times launched 4C special overcharge battery, and the energy storage power station adapted to the GT PowerSafe system can respond to the frequency modulation command of the grid within 1 second.

Infrastructure Network:
Jointly build the world’s first “supercharging corridor” with Shell and State Grid, and deploy 3,000 supercharging stations at high speed in Eurasia by 2027, with single station configuration:

8 supercharged piles: peak power 600kW, supporting the intelligent power distribution of the whole model;

2MWh energy storage buffer: The use of valley energy storage + photovoltaic recharge, KWH cost as low as $0.12.

Cost break: Mass production process breakdown price threshold
In situ growth of graphene by vapor deposition:

The amount of graphene is reduced by 80%, and the production cost is reduced by 65% compared with the traditional coating method.

The construction cost of a single GWh production line is $230 million (the industry average is 380 million), and the mass production cell price is $92 /kWh ($115 for the standard silicon carbon solution).
GT PowerSafe announced the launch of two mega plants in Munich and Suzhou, with a total capacity of 80GWh by 2027 to meet the demand for 1.5 million electric vehicles.

Industry Resonance: Rewriting the energy efficiency equation
Bloomberg New Energy Finance estimates that HyperCharge-X technology, if popularized, will bring three changes:

Land intensive: the turnover rate of charging stations is increased by 400%, and the area required for the same service capacity is reduced by 60%;

Power grid efficiency: the frequency modulation response speed of the energy storage power station has increased from the minute level to the millisecond level, and the renewable energy consumption rate has increased to 98%;

User revolution: electric vehicle charging anxiety index decreased by 87%, the whole life cycle cost is 42% lower than fuel vehicles.
The International Charging and Replacement Association (CharIN) has invited GT PowerSafe to lead the development of the “4C Supercharge Global Standard”, and the China Electricity Council has simultaneously launched the “Second Charging Ecological Alliance”.
